Green Living Association is a self reliant, non-governmental organization working to extend environmental education in Pakistan. At Green Living Association, our foremost commitment is to instill the principles of sustainability across every facet of our lives, recognizing it as the pivotal subject for students and their families in reshaping our future.
We launched the first Environmental Education campaign, ‘Kids’ Action to Restore Environment’ (KARE), in 2007. The message of green solidarity has now been extended to the entire nation. Now, the majority of renowned private school networks, services school systems and individual institutions across Pakistan are our Green Partners, with thousands of students and their families participating annually in our green initiatives.
Today, as Pakistan experiences a historic transition toward solar and renewable energy, GLA proudly views this transformation as part of the broader environmental consciousness it has tirelessly promoted for nearly two decades. By continuously educating people about fossil fuel dependency, climate change, environmental degradation, and sustainable living, GLA has contributed to building the public awareness and positive mindset necessary for the country’s emerging green energy revolution.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the visionary leadership of our Green Partner educational institutes, whose unwavering commitment and enduring green solidarity have been the driving force behind each facet of our success. Without their dedication, the dream of a greener nation—powered by clean energy and sustainable practices—would have remained distant.
Working:
At Green Living Association, we’ve been busy educating students and families about Environmental Conservation through colourful and engaging activities. We’ve organized Green Exhibitions, Environmental Quizzes, Green Performing Arts, Carnivals, and Environmental Walks. What makes our approach unique is that we declare each participating student a Green Ambassador and recognize their efforts, which has greatly contributed to the success of our collective efforts.
What truly sets Green Living Association apart from other NGOs is its unwavering commitment to steady and transparent work. Since 2007, every achievement we have made has been powered solely by our own organizational resources—without accepting a single rupee of funding or donation from any local or international source. This independence not only reflects our integrity but also makes each success a testament to our dedication and self-reliance.
Achievements:
We have reached significant milestones through the completion of three 5-year campaigns: ‘Kids’ Action to Restore Environment (KARE),’ ‘Collective Action to Restore Environment (CARE),’ and ‘Collective Action to Control Climate Change (CATCH).’ Green Living Association is presently conducting its fourth five-year practical campaign, Save Environment with Evolved Knowledge (SEEK). This initiative is designed to build nationwide awareness of key environmental challenges such as Climate Change while fostering a collective commitment to effectively overcoming them.
Our Journey has not Finished:
This journey of crafting Pakistan’s green future has been so meaningful because of our Green Partner Educational Institutes, Students and their Families – visionaries who turn hope into action, and dreams into reality. Our Green Partners do not just teach sustainability; they live it, planting seeds of change that are now blossoming across our nation. Every solar panel installed, every student educated, every community transformed stands as a testament to what solidarity can achieve.
